Arriving Passengers
All international arriving passengers, including those from the ECOWAS region, will be required to meet the following health requirements prior to admission into Ghana:
         a) Passengers must not have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 including body temperature >38°?.
         b) Passengers must possess a COVID-19 negative PCR test from an accredited laboratory in the country of origin.
         c) The test should have been done not more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time from the country of origin.
         d) Airlines who board passengers without PCR test result or transport and disembark passengers with Positive PCR test result into Accra will be fined US$3,500 per passenger.
o Non-Ghanaians may be refused entry and returned to the point of embarkation at a cost to the Airline.
o Ghanaians will be allowed entry but subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine at a facility approved by the Government and at a cost to the passenger.
         e) Arriving passengers will undergo temperature screening.
         f) Ghanaian residents who depart Ghana and return within one (1) week will not be required to present a COVID-19 result from the country of departure. They will, however, undergo mandatory COVID-19 testing upon arrival in Ghana.
         g) Passengers will be subjected to a mandatory COVID-19 test at the airport terminal at a cost of $150 to be borne by the passenger. Payment can be made online at https://myfrontierhealthcare.com/Home/Ghana. Any passenger who is unable to pay online will be required to make payment on arrival for the test.
         h) Any Passenger who refuses to pay to undergo the COVID-19 test will be subjected to the following:
o Passenger’s passport will be seized, and passenger handed over to State Security Agencies.
o Passenger will be taken into a fourteen (14) day quarantine at a designated location at the passenger’s cost.
         i) Passengers who test positive upon arrival will receive further clinical assessment and treatment.
         j) Passengers who test negative will be advised to continue to observe COVID-19 safety precautions following arrival in Ghana.
         k) For passengers who transit through other countries before arriving in Ghana, the first country of departure will be the reference point. (Connecting flights should not deny passenger boarding, as long as the journey has not been terminated in any of the transit countries.)

    2. Transit Passengers
         a) Passengers transiting and transferring through Accra will not be required to take the COVID-19 test in Accra.
         b) Transit passengers will be required to adhere to COVID-19 testing requirements for the destination countries.

    3. Exemptions
         a) Airline crew are exempted from the pre-departure and arrival COVID-19 testing and should follow the Airline policy for testing.
         b) Children under 5 years of age will not be required to undergo testing on Arrival at the Kotoka International Airport.
         c) Passengers who arrive under emergency circumstances such as diverted flights will not be required to undergo testing if they do not leave the airport or remain in isolation in their hotel.
Passengers must wear face mask appropriately (extending from the middle nasal bridge to halfway between the chin and the neck) and are advised to regularly use any of the hand sanitizing stations provided in the terminal.

    4. Travelling with Pets
         a) Travelling with pets into Ghana is allowed in line with guidelines of the Veterinary Services Directorate of the Ministry of Food & Agriculture

    5. Departing Passengers
All international departing passengers will be required to meet the following guidelines prior to departure:
         a) Passengers will be required to adhere to COVID-19 testing requirements for the destination countries
         b) Departing passengers will undergo temperature screening at the entrance of Terminal 3 departures
         c) Only passengers and persons with business in the terminal will be allowed entry
        d) Online check-in or the use of self-service kiosks is strongly encouraged to reduce physical contact at the airport
        e) Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Passengers must wear face mask appropriately (extending from the middle nasal bridge to halfway between the chin and the neck) and are advised to regularly use any of the hand sanitizing stations provided in the terminal.

RECTIFYING THE INCORRECT STATEMENTS MADE BY JULIUS KUGOR ON YOUTUBE CHANNEL “ROYAL AFRICTV” http://ghanaembassy.com.tr/rectifying-the-incorrect-statements-made-by-julius-kugor-on-youtube-channel-royal-africtv/ Wed, 22 Jul 2020 13:23:05 +0000 http://ghanaembassy.com.tr/?p=98137 The attention of the Ghana Embassy in Ankara-Turkey was on Tuesday, 21st July, 2020 drawn to a video posted on a YouTube channel “Royal Africtv”, titled “Exclusive interview with the president of African Union Community in Turkey”.

 

2. In the said video, a Ghanaian National, Mr. Julius Kugor speaking as the supposed president of the “African Union Community” in Turkey made some incorrect statements with regards to the processing of passports for Ghanaian residents in Turkey.

3. According to Mr. Kugor, a new law passed last year, require Ghanaians in Turkey who wish to renew their passports (bio-metric or machine­readable) to travel to Ghana to be able to do so, and therefore suggested that the passport processes are cumbersome and stressful.

4. The Ghana Embassy in Turkey would, therefore, like to correct these erroneous claims by Mr. Kugor and also wishes to state categorically as follows:

  • There is NO law that requires Ghanaians in Turkey and its countries of concurrent accreditation to return to Ghana to renew their passports;
  •  All passport applications received by the Ghana Embassy in Ankara or the Ghana Consulate in Istanbul are duly forwarded to Ghana for processing and returned for onward delivery to applicants, between 4 -6 weeks, and NOT THREE (3) MONTHS;
  • Also, with effect from 1st July, 2020., Ghanaians in Turkey and its countries of concurrent accreditation, now have the option of applying for a 38 or 48-page passport booklets for a period of 10 years at reduced fees of €120 and €180 respectively, while, that for minors (under 18 years) still remain at €115. The earlier fee for a 38-page passport booklet was €200.
  • Application forms can be downloaded from the Embassy’s website www.ghanaembassy.com.tr. Completed application forms can be submitted either to the Ghana Consulate in Istanbul or Ghana Embassy in Ankara;
  • Applications must be accompanied with proof of payment, proof of one’s nationality (and this must either be a copy of BIRTH­CERTIFICATE or a copy of BIO-PAGE of old passport);
  • All applications must be submitted with four (4) standard passport size photographs taken full face on a plain background within six (6) months of the date of application without dark glasses or hat. One of the photographs should be certified as true likeness of the applicant by a witness;

B) All must arrive at the airport (4) hours before departure;

C) Ticket price is $878 and should be made available for payment during ckeck-in formalities;

D) Persons with existing return Turkish Airlines tickets are adviced to bring them along;

E) All evacuees will be required to provide their own PPES (Personal Protective Equipment, E.G. face masks, sanitizers);

  • Turkish flight TK 4920 will depart for Accra on Thursday 2nd July, 2020 from İstanbul International Airport Terminal 2 at 8:00 AM. Interested persons who have not submitted their details to the Embassy should do so and contact the airline directly after NOON, Wednesday, 1st 2020 for ticket reservation.
  • There will be a pre-boarding screening for all evacuees before departure, and evacuess will be required to provide their own PPE’s (Personel Protective Equipment, e.g. face masks, sanitizers). Attached is detailed guidelines issued by the Turkish authorities for our information;
  • There will be a 14-day mandatory quarantine upon arrival in Accra (with the possibility of extension to 21 days). The cost of the quarantine will be borne by the evacuess and should be made directly to either of the following hotels:

In addition to this, it was decided not to ask for a “Travel Permit Document” to the foreign tourists over 65 years old who make intercity trips in our country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey presents its compliments to Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations in Turkey, and has the honour to present herewith the measures determined by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey for travel to Turkey from abroad by air, land and railway.

 

Measures for air travel:

  • Civil airline companies will continue to implement protection and control measures for flights which were introduced previously against the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The “C ircular on Airport Pandemic Measures and Certification” issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation shall
  • Passengers and other persons who come to airports will get services in line with measures determined for COVID-19.
  • During the flight, passengers will be asked to complete the passenger information form (personal information, seat number, the address they will be staying at in Turkey, contact information, symptom information) and will be given an information note on COVID-19.
  • These forms will be saved for a month and will be handed to the relevant Provincial Health Directorate if they require
  • When the aircraft lands at the airport, it will be required to submit a GENDEC on whether anyone on the aircraft is showing
  • If the aircraft is carrying a passenger who is suspected of having COVID-19, on-board procedures shall be implemented .
  • After the passengers leave the aircraft and are transported to the terminal in compliance with social distancing measures, their temperatures will be measured and those who are found to have a fever will be questioned over possible
  • If a passenger who is suspected of having COVID-19 is identified at the airport, he/she will be quarantined/isolated. The contact person of the Health Directorate and the 112 emergency services will be notified of the status of the passenger and the sick passenger will be transported to hospital for an
  • If the patient is diagnosed with COVID-19, the passenger information forms will be used to identify persons who have come into contact with him/her (all seats within a two-metre radius of the seat of the COVID-19 patient: the two rows in the front, the two rows in the back and the two seats to the side, and if the patient in question was sitting in an aisle seat, the persons sitting in the seats diagonally behind and in front). Their fD information, contact details and address will be passed on to the relevant Directorate of Health as soon as possible.

 

  • If authorities are informed of passengers who develop COVI0-19 in the period after the flight, the passenger information forms will be used to identify persons who have come into contact with them on the
  • Persons identified as having come into contact with a COVrD-19 case on the aircraft will be quarantined/isolated for 14 days and will be processed in accordance with the quarantine/isolation procedures in

– If authorities find no problems with respect to COVID-19,  people  will be able to leave the airport in line with the rules in place.

 

Measures for land travel:

  • If the passengers will cross in mass transport vehicles (such as buses, trains, ), they will be asked to fill out passenger information forms.
  • Before passport procedures at border crossings, each passenger will have his/her temperature measured and hand in his/her passenger information form. Authorized personnel will check each passenger information form. If there are any passengers who are reporting a symptom, they will be quarantined/ The 112 emergency services will be notified of the status of the passenger and the sick passenger will be transported to hospital for an examination.
  • The passenger information form will contain the passenger’ s personal information, seat number, the address he/she will be staying at in Turkey , contact information and symptom information. For railway passengers, the form must also contain the carriage
  • These forms will be saved for a month by the land border teams of the Provincial Health Directorate with record of the travel company’ s bus/train number, the country it has come from and the license plate of the
  • If authorities find no problems with respect to COVID-19, passengers will be distributed an information note on COVID-I9 and be allowed to leave.

– If a passenger tests positive for COVID-19, the people he/she came into contact with inside the vehicle and elsewhere will be identified (in accordance with the sections on tracing people who have come into contact with COVrD-19 patients, outbreak management, monitoring patients at home and contact tracing of the COVID-19 guide) and the health directorates of the provinces they will travel to will be notified as soon as possible.

  • Persons identified as having come into contact with a COVID-19 case will be quarantined/isolated for 14 days and will be processed in accordance with the quarantine/ isolation procedures in They will be warned against straying from the route the vehicle will take.
  • Utmost care will be taken to ensure that staff wear protective equipment while checking vehicles and people, that passengers observe social distancing rules and wear masks. It will not be possible to enter terminal buildings without a

  • Those who arrive by yacht will be asked to complete the passenger information form (personal information, the address they will be staying at in Turkey, contact details, symptom information) during the security check where they dock. The passengers will be given an information note on COVID-19.

  • Passengers and other persons who come to ports will get services in line with measures determined for COVID-19.
