2. Transit Passengers
a) Passengers transiting and transferring through Accra will not be required to take the COVID-19 test in Accra.
b) Transit passengers will be required to adhere to COVID-19 testing requirements for the destination countries.
3. Exemptions
a) Airline crew are exempted from the pre-departure and arrival COVID-19 testing and should follow the Airline policy for testing.
b) Children under 5 years of age will not be required to undergo testing on Arrival at the Kotoka International Airport.
c) Passengers who arrive under emergency circumstances such as diverted flights will not be required to undergo testing if they do not leave the airport or remain in isolation in their hotel.
Passengers must wear face mask appropriately (extending from the middle nasal bridge to halfway between the chin and the neck) and are advised to regularly use any of the hand sanitizing stations provided in the terminal.
4. Travelling with Pets
a) Travelling with pets into Ghana is allowed in line with guidelines of the Veterinary Services Directorate of the Ministry of Food & Agriculture
5. Departing Passengers
All international departing passengers will be required to meet the following guidelines prior to departure:
a) Passengers will be required to adhere to COVID-19 testing requirements for the destination countries
b) Departing passengers will undergo temperature screening at the entrance of Terminal 3 departures
c) Only passengers and persons with business in the terminal will be allowed entry
d) Online check-in or the use of self-service kiosks is strongly encouraged to reduce physical contact at the airport
e) Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Passengers must wear face mask appropriately (extending from the middle nasal bridge to halfway between the chin and the neck) and are advised to regularly use any of the hand sanitizing stations provided in the terminal.

2. In the said video, a Ghanaian National, Mr. Julius Kugor speaking as the supposed president of the “African Union Community” in Turkey made some incorrect statements with regards to the processing of passports for Ghanaian residents in Turkey.
3. According to Mr. Kugor, a new law passed last year, require Ghanaians in Turkey who wish to renew their passports (bio-metric or machinereadable) to travel to Ghana to be able to do so, and therefore suggested that the passport processes are cumbersome and stressful.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Turkey presents its compliments to the Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of International Organizations in Turkey, with reference to the Ministry’ s Note No. 2020/64252666/31435036 and dated 23/06/2020, has the honour to inform the followings regarding to the entry/exit of the foreign citizens who travel to Turkey by air, sea and road.
It was decided to allow the foreign-plated vehicles carrying tourists from abroad to Turkey regardless of seating rules within the scope of corona virus epidemic measures, on the condition of not increasing the number of passengers after crossed the border (without taking new passengers within Turkey).
In addition to this, it was decided not to ask for a “Travel Permit Document” to the foreign tourists over 65 years old who make intercity trips in our country.
The Ministry kindly requests from the Embassies to inform the information to the Consulate Generals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of International Organizations in Turkey the assurances of its highest consideration.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey presents its compliments to Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations in Turkey, and has the honour to present herewith the measures determined by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey for travel to Turkey from abroad by air, land and railway.
Measures for air travel:
– If authorities find no problems with respect to COVID-19, people will be able to leave the airport in line with the rules in place.
Measures for land travel:
– If a passenger tests positive for COVID-19, the people he/she came into contact with inside the vehicle and elsewhere will be identified (in accordance with the sections on tracing people who have come into contact with COVrD-19 patients, outbreak management, monitoring patients at home and contact tracing of the COVID-19 guide) and the health directorates of the provinces they will travel to will be notified as soon as possible.
Measures for sea travel:
he/she will be quarantined/isolated. The contact person of the Health Directorate and the 112 emergency services will be notified of the status of the passenger and the sick passenger will be transported to hospital for an examination.
– If authorities find no problems with respect to COVID-19, people will be able to leave the port in line with the rules in place.
The Embassies are kindly asked to share the points elucidated above with their General Consulates.
